Pour ceux qui se débrouillent en anglais, voici la description du travail effectué :
THE SHED

BMW R100 RS 1981 CAFE RACER

MODIFIED 1981 BMW R100 RS AS A CAFÉ RACER.

I CALL IT THE SHED BECAUSE IT WAS EXACTLY THAT WHEN I BOUGHT IT LAST YEAR BEFORE RESTAURATION TOOK PLACE.

APPARENTLY ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT IN 2000 BUT UPON INSPECTION IT WAS IN A VERY POOR STATE, WITH A BADLY REGROUND CRANK (IT IS USED AS MY PAPERWEIGHT NOW).

APPARENTLY IT HAS DONE 68927 MILES UP TO NOV 2006 WHEN I BOUGHT IT AS A NON-RUNNER, NOW YOU CAN CONSIDER IT AS O MILEAGE.

IT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT, WITH AN EYE FOR DETAIL AND VERY PEDANTIC APPROACH.

WHEN I MENTION ZINC PLATING, IT DOES NOT REFERS THE MANY HOURS SPENT REMOVING RUST AND WIRE BRUSHING COMPONENTS TO LOOK ALMOST BLUEISH CHROME WHEN IT CAME BACK FROM ZINC PLATING OR PERFECTING COMPONENTS FOR POWDER COATING OR THE MANY HOURS AGONIZING OVER SPECIAL BRACKETS OR OTHER MODS BUT THAT’S THE FUN OF IT!

YOU WILL NOT FIND A SPEC OF CORROSION OR UNTIDYNESS ON THIS BIKE!

I DECIDED TO MODIFY BMW’S AS I LIVE NEAR ACE CAFÉ AND GET TIRED OF WATCHING TRITONS, DRESDAS, BITSAS ALL OTHER CAFÉ RACERS THAT ALTHOUGH ARE THE REAL DEAL, IT IS HARD TO STRIKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU WANT TO DO THE SAME (VERY HIGH STANDARD, SUPERB MACHINES OUT THERE, FRUIT OF LOVE FROM TRUE LUNATICS) AND BELIEVE ME, 70+ TEUTONIC HP FEELS VERY FAST!
